Education Sector
We have extensive experience in the education sector and have delivered a number of significant projects for a local FE college. One of these projects is the School of Caring for Kirklees College.
This is a newbuild campus for environmental studies which was designed to be an exemplar of environmental good practice. The brief called for a range of flexible teaching spaces including classrooms, laboratories and workshops.
The project was awarded a commendation by the RIBA, with the assessor saying:
“The school of caring is an example of environmentally aware design producing an attractive, delightful place to learn and teach. The organisation of the building is clear and works well.”
Facilities Management
We work on a regular basis with facilities management companies and provide a range of professional services for central government departments, high street banks and the education sector.

A significant proportion of this work involves the repurposing of buildings to create modern working environments, which promote collaborative working and staff wellbeing.
Re-purposing office environments to respond to changing working patterns will also make a significant contribution to reducing the impact of the construction sector on climate change.

Office Refurbishment
As commercial architects, we have been delighted to work with HSBC Bank on a variety of projects.
Shown here are the results of the £20m refurbishment of Griffin House in Sheffield, the company’s Northern Headquarters.
Our work with HSBC has also included office refurbishments, fit-out works and space planning as well as the design of generic floor plans.
We also oversaw the managed re-location of bank staff and management.
Retail Sector
We have worked with several high street retailers including Mamas and Papas for whom we have delivered a wide range of retail and head office projects. We are currently involved on a project to create a flexible office environment, which will adapt to a future when flexible working becomes widespread.
We are also working on a fully automated warehousing facility for an international workwear supplier.

The second of two logistics buildings for this client delivered 5000 sqm of highbay warehousing and 750 sqm of factory store, the fully glazed gable of which provided maximum product visibility.
